Srushti began to prepare herself for her UPSC exam in her third year as a student in engineering. When she graduated she wondered if she could be happy working in an engineering position. She realized later that her ideal job would be in civil service and started to focus on it. Parents insisted that she study for civils and make it a profession serving the public. She was driven to be an IAS officer and was committed to achieve that goal. You need to put in more effort to achieve UPSC. While studying her engineering subjects, she also used to practice for the various topics at UPSC. Exam preparation was conducted every day. It took her just one month studying for the test and kept off Facebook and other social media in her lives. Her belief is that concentration and focus are crucial for a successful exam to be a government official. She was committed to passing the exam and put in a lot of amount of work. Daily, she would read the papers to stay on top of current affairs. Rajya Sabha TV and online studies were also of huge help for her.
