Alison Wright (born in England) is an English actor from England. She was nominated for the Emmy Awards in 2017 because of her performance as Martha Hanson, the star of FX's period spy series The Americans. She also starred in Ryan Murphy's limited series Feud and Bette & Joan & Hollywood. Wright was born on the 12th of July, 1976, at Sunderland, Tyne and Wear in the UK, where she was raised by her adoptive parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She studied at New York City at The Barrow Group and at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. In the auditions she took to be cast in roles, she worked as serving as a waitress. While scuba diving at sea - an interest of hers she was struck by a heart attack which put her patient in a condition that was similar to one in an in-hospital condition known as a coma. She died peacefully six days later, surrounded by her loved ones who had flown to her hospital bedside. Wright was adopted by her parents, and raised in Sunderland. Her birth date was 12 July 1976.
